Kenya and Uganda 2011

This summer I am going to return to Into Abba’s Arms orphanage in Kenya, Africa for five weeks. My experience in Africa was life changing, and I feel God tugging on my heart to return. I have dearly missed the children and staff since I left. I have kept in touch with Sharon, one of the little girls I grew very attached to and I am sponsoring one of the little boys named Richard. I have been working on the orphanage’s blog and website as well. My sister, Kelly, will be joining me in Kenya for three of the weeks while I am there. She has heard my stories and seen pictures from my experience last summer and longs for them to come to life. Before my five weeks in Kenya, I am going to Hope Care Child Program in Bulanga, Uganda for six weeks with my friend Amanda. At this orphanage, there are 150 kids and around 370 come for school. Grades 1-7 are taught on site. I will be helping teach in the classrooms, caring for the younger children, and assisting with the daily needs of the orphanage.  In Uganda, I will also have the opportunity to meet and spend a day with the little girl I sponsor through Compassion International. I have to raise the $4,000 cost of the trip. I am so thankful for everyone who supported me last year and am praying and trusting that God will provide the funds once again. My passion is showing love to the people of Africa and I hope you will support me in doing so.
